A new force has manifested across the server. The Wild Beyonders are a faction of powerful NPCs imbued with the mystical energies of the various Beyonder Pathways. Scattered far beyond the safety of the world center, these wanderers bring a new level of risk and opportunity to the wilderness. Here is everything you need to know before you head out to find them (or before they find you)
Where to find them?
Just as stated in the initial changelogs, Wild Beyonders are not your average mobs. They are intelligent entities designed to fill the void in the wilderness. You won’t find these entities at spawn (0,0). They appear in a large radius from the world center, claiming the outer reaches as their domain. Don’t look for them in the safe zones! They vary significantly in strength, spawning from Sequence 9 up to the formidable Sequence 5. (No Demigods for now, I value your sanity and mine as well)
Friend or Foe?
This is the most critical mechanic. Unlike standard Minecraft mobs, the Wild Beyonders’ attitude toward you depends entirely on the Pathway you have chosen.
- If you share the exact same Pathway as the NPC, they are peaceful. They see you as kin (unless provoked). You can trade with them at standard prices.
- If you are from a neighboring/adjacent Pathway, they are also peaceful (unless provoked first). You can trade with them, but with a 50% Price Markup. Call it the “stranger tax.”
- If you are from an opposing pathway, or if you choose to attack them first - they will attack on sight using their full suite of Beyonder powers. Good luck.
To say it simply, the are pathists!
The Economy & Trading
To trade with a peaceful Beyonder, you need deep pockets. They require both Money AND Energy Shards. In exchange, they offer essential progression items: Beyonder Ingredients, Recipes & Potions and even Beyonder Characteristics!
The True Purpose
I added this faction to solve a specific problem - PvP Restrictions
Many pathways (like Hanged Man, Abyss, or Fool) require killing or controlling entities to progress. Previously, this meant begging other players to let you kill them to bypass the “No PvP without Consent” rule. Wild Beyonders are the fix. They are fully valid targets for your darkest abilities. You are highly encouraged to hunt them to utilize your class mechanics:
- Hanged Man: Kill them to Graze their souls and steal their abilities
- Door / White Tower: Observe them to Record or Replicate their spells
- Fool: Defeat them to convert them into Marionettes with abilities
- Abyss: Slaughter them to gain Acting Points without needing to harass real players!
These NPCs work exactly like players in the scope of these abilities.
Combat & Rewards
If you choose violence (or are forced into it), be prepared. These NPCs simulate player combat and will use their abilities to defend themselves, which are by 20% more powerful and have lower cooldowns compared to yours. They will keep trying to kill you even if you die and come back, so think thrice before provoking them!
Note: Expect some weird bugs with AI pathfinding in complex terrain. Just report it and hope I am in the mood to fix that. Not all of the available spells will work correctly with them (like Disorder Domain, Exile etc). Take care of yourself and Cheers!
